Abstract

This report updates the Anker Living Income Reference Value for rural Peru to 2024. This was PEN 2,050 (USD 603) for 2020 in the original report.2 It is estimated as PEN 2,522 (USD 666) for 2024. This update takes into account the national CPI inflation rate from mid-2020 to mid-2024. Accumulated inflation in this period is estimated to be 23% 3 . Without accounting for inflation, the living income estimated in 2020 would not be sufficient for families to have a basic but decent standard of living in 2024, because the purchasing power of the living income would have decreased.
