2024 Living Wage Update Report: Living Wage Report for Urban Banten and Urban West Java Indonesia
Abstract
This report provides updated estimates of family living expenses and living wage for three urban districts: South Tangerang in the province of Banten, and Garut and Subang in the province of West Java, in Indonesia. The update for 2024 takes into account inflation and changes in payroll deductions since the original Anker living wage study carried out in November 2023 (Pantja Pramudya et al., 2023).

2023 Benchmark Report: Living Wage Report for Urban Banten and Urban West Java Indonesia
Background
The findings in this report reflect the research carried out in estimating the living wage, employing the Anker Methodology, in three districts: South Tangerang in the province of Banten, and Garut and Subang in the province of West Java, in Indonesia. Most of the factories supplying footwear to international companies are located in the districts selected for the estimation exercise. The net living wage was estimated to be IDR 4,677,934 (USD 312) per month for urban Banten (Tangerang Selatan) and IDR 3,918,119 (USD 261) per month for urban West Java (Garut and Subang) as of November 2023.
