Reference Value Report: Living Wage Report and 2024 Update for Urban Argentina

This report updates the Anker Living Wage Reference Value for non-metropolitan urban Argentina to June 2024. This was ARS 43,827 in June 2020 in the original report and compromised a Net Living Wage of ARS 36,376, plus a social security contribution of ARS 7,451. The updated Anker Gross Living Wage for June 2024 is ARS 864,584, and comprises a Net Living Wage of ARS 717,605, plus a social contribution of ARS 146,979. Inflation in this period was 1,872.7%. Without accounting for inflation, the Living Wage estimated for 2020 would not be sufficient for families to have a basic but decent standard of living in 2024, because the purchasing power of the living income would have significantly decreased. Social security contributions were calculated using laws in force in 2024. They amount to a total deduction of 17%3 on the gross wage (11% for the pension find; 3% for healthcare; and 3% for social services). Residents receiving the equivalent of the monthly gross living wage are exempted from income tax in Argentina.
