The 2022 update takes into account inflation and changes in payroll deductions since the original Anker living wage study carried out in February 2020 (De Freitas, Cordeiro, Barbosa & Bowen, 2021).

This report estimates living wages for workers in typical non-metropolitan areas of Brazil, specifically in São Paulo, to be able to afford a basic but decent living standard. This report is part of a series of living wage reports for the Global Living Wage Coalition (GLWC) using the Anker methodology to estimate living wages in rural and urban areas around the world.
