Abstract

This report updates the Anker Living Income Reference Value for rural Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to account for price inflation since the original report of 2021. The estimated living income for rural DRC was CDF 380,033 per month in 2021. Between mid-2021 and mid-2024, the inflation rate in DRC was 54.7%.3 Without accounting for inflation, the living income for 2021would not suffice for a basic yet decent standard of living in 2024 due to decreased purchasing power.
