Kabeer Dawani
Kabeer is an independent researcher and consultant, currently based in the United States. He has been working on living wages since 2015 – he has led two Anker Living Wage Benchmark Studies in Pakistan, coauthored a methodological note on updating living wage estimates annually and several Anker Reference Value Reports, and has consulted with Fairtrade International to support the updates of several benchmark studies.
In addition to working on living wages, Kabeer has worked as a researcher at the Collective for Social Science Research in Karachi and with the Urban Development and Social Protection practices of the World Bank. He has published papers and book chapters on a range of topics, including anti-corruption, decentralization and local governments, health and the pharmaceutical sector, and public transport.
Kabeer holds a Master’s from the London School of Economics and Political Science in Development Studies, where has was a Chevening Scholar, and a Bachelor’s in Politics and Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences.
