Living Wage Subnational-Estimate: Mexico City 2024

Abstract
This study presents an estimate of the living wage for Mexico City based on the Anker Methodology®. The living wage for a full-time worker is esti mated to be $15,790 (Mexican pesos) per month. This is made up of a take-home wage of $13,659 plus social security contributions and income taxes for $2,131 per month. The calculation assumes a typical Mexico City household, with 2 adults and 2 children; and with one adult working full time and the other working 72% of the time. The cost of a basic but decent (or dignified) living standard for the typical family is $23,493 per month as of June 2024.
