The updated Anker Gross Living Wage for 2024 is CFA 128,374 per month, comprised of a Net Living Wage of CFA 122,597 plus CFA 5,777 in mandatory payroll deductions which would need to be paid by law as contributions to social security (4%)3 and income tax (0.5%)4. Inflation in this period was 4.2%. Without accounting for inflation, the Living Wage estimated in 2023 would not suffice for a basic yet decent standard of living in 2024 due to decreased purchasing power.
