Benchmark Report: 2023 Living Income Report for Rural Nigeria: Cross River and Benue States

This report estimates a living income for rural areas in the states of Cross River and Benue in Nigeria. It uses the Anker Methodology®, whereby secondary data from existing household surveys are combined with primary data collected in new fieldwork, as in a typical Anker Methodology® living wage and income benchmark study.

THE GOLD STANDARD FOR LIVING WAGE RESEARCH

The Anker Research Institute conducts rigorous research on living wage and living income around the world, based on the Anker Methodology. This methodology combines secondary data analysis on households’ size, expenditures, and number of workers, with thorough on-ground field research on the local cost of nutritious food, healthy housing, adequate health care, and children’s education. This combination of primary and secondary data, and the rigorous, locally embedded research, sets the Anker Research Institute apart from other organizations estimating living wages and living incomes.
