2024 Reference Value Update Report: Living Income Report for Rural Cameroon
Abstract
This report updates the Anker Living Income Reference Value for rural Cameroon to 2024. This was CFA 155,746 (USD 269) for 2020 in the original report2 .The updated Anker Living Income for 2024 is CFA 190,356 (USD 312) per month. The updated value takes into account the inflation accumulated in the country in this period, which was 22.22% . Without accounting for inflation, the Living Income estimated in 2020 would not be sufficient for families to have a basic but decent standard of living in 2024, because the purchasing power of the Living Income would have decreased.

Abstract
The Anker Living Income Reference Value for 2020 for rural Cameroon is CFA 155,746 per month (USD 269) with a 95% confidence interval around it from CFA 142,551 to CFA 170,163. This is the income required for rural families to be able to afford a basic but decent living standard in a typical rural area of Cameroon.
